Drama Productions

In addition to the Stage 5 and Stage 6 courses offered at the College, students are given the opportunity to extend their talents by participating in eisteddfods, drama productions, talent quests, liturgies and theatre sports.

A biennale production is a highlight. The style of the play continues to vary and the cast is drawn from Years 10 and 11 students studying Drama. Selection is based on an auditioning process. Performance evenings are also anticipated events within the College calendar where students can present in-class performance assessment to the parents and friends of the College in our Byrne Theatre.

Annually, Year 11 students also write and perform a twenty minute Theatre in Education play which deals with issues relating to anti-bullying strategies and the transition from primary to secondary school. This play is well received by the primary schools. The students devise the play from literature studied and from their personal experiences. Once finished, the play tours local primary schools over a number of days. The students perform and lead a discussion about the issues raised in the play.
