Dear Parents & Carers,
Confirmed School Closure, Tuesday 12 November 2019 – Catastrophic Fire Danger
The NSW Rural Fire Service has announced a catastrophic fire danger rating for Tuesday 12 November 2019. Given the school’s proximity to bushland, Mater Maria Catholic College is considered to be in a high-risk area which triggers the closure of the school as a safety precaution.
The school will be closed for all students, staff and visitors on Tuesday 12 November 2019.
Parents and carers are asked to organise alternate supervision for their children on this day as no one is permitted on school grounds. A message outlining the rescheduling of student assessment tasks will be sent to relevant students via their school email address. All appointments and meetings will be rescheduled by the staff involved.
At this stage, we assume that Wednesday will be a normal school and we will send correspondence to you via email and our website should this change. At this time, our hearts turn to the people across our country who are grieving at the loss of family members and homes due to the current fires.
Please keep these people and the wonderful members of the NSW Rural Fire Service, in your prayers.
We thank you for your cooperation.
