The opportunity to represent Mater Maria Catholic College in cross country is offered to any student who demonstrates an interest and ability in their age related event.

From the trials, a representative group of boys and girls are selected in each age group for the College team. The team competes at the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay Championships.

Six students in each age group are then selected to represent the Broken Bay Diocese at the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges championships. Talented runners may then be selected to progress to the NSW All Schools level.

Mater Maria has traditionally been one of the strongest Diocesan schools in the cross country event.
