Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply to more than one CSBB school?

Yes. From early 2026, if you are considering multiple schools, you will be able to submit
one application indicating schools in order of preference via the online enrolment
platform.

For the remainder of 2025, you will need to submit a separate application for each
school via the enrolment page on their website.

Do I need to upload all supporting documents?

Yes. From early 2026, documents can be uploaded during the online application
process.

You can save your application and return to it later.

If you need help, contact the school directly for guidance.

Incomplete applications cannot be reviewed or considered by the school.

Who can submit the enrolment application?

It is expected that where there are two parents that both will be party to the enrolment
application. The originator can invite the second parent to be a party to the application.

All parties must accept the invitation to be included in the application.

How will I be notified of the outcome of my application?

All parties to the application will receive an email.

Who can accept the offer of Enrolment?

All parties to the application must accept the offer of Enrolment and sign the Enrolment
Agreement in order to accept an enrolment at the school.

Who needs to sign the Enrolment Agreement?

In order to sign the contract, you must be a party to the original application. It is
important to note that all parties to the agreement are jointly and severally responsible
for fees. Billing arrangements can be amended by application once the Enrolment
Agreement has been signed and the student is enrolled in the school.

Where is Mater Maria Catholic College located?

Mater Maria Catholic College is nestled in the foothills of the Warriewood Escarpment. The school overlooks the picturesque Warriewood Valley and offers ocean views from the upper site areas. 

It is located at 5 Forest Road, Warriewood which is easily accessible from Mona Vale Road or Pittwater Road.

When should I apply for Year 7?

We recommend submitting applications when youir child is in Year 4. Applications for Year 7 close at the end of Term 1 in Year 5.  Late applications may be placed on a waiting list, subject to available places. 

I am interested in enrolling my child at Mater Maria Catholic College. Where should I start?

Mater Maria Catholic College in Warriewood is a comprehensive Year 7 – 12 College within the Diocese of Broken Bay. We welcome families seeking a faith-based, co-educational education for their children.

Are there any advantages to submitting enrolments early?

No. The date of application does not affect our enrolment process. All applications are reviewed after the closing date, so submitting early does not provide priority.

What documents do I need to provide with my application?

Please include the following documents to support your application: 

  • Birth Certificate
  • Passport and visa or Australian Citizenship Certificate (if not born in Australia)
  • Australian Citizenship Certificate or Australian Passport (if both parents born overseas)
  • Baptismal and other Sacramental Certificates (Catholic or other, if applicable)
  • Immunisation History Statement (available via Medicare online through myGov)
  • Most recent School Report
  • Most recent NAPLAN Report
  • Specialist Reports and/or assessments (i.e. speech, hearing, psychologist for educational needs, as indicated on the Enrolment Application Form)
  • Family Court Orders (if applicable)
  • Any other documents you believe are relevant to support the application.

How are enrolment decisions made?

Applications and offers are processed when the students are in Term 2 of Year 5. All offers are made in line with the Catholic Schools Broken Bay (CSBB) Enrolment Policy

When the number of applications exceeds available places, or where prioritisation is required, offers are made according to the following priority order:

Secondary Schools: 

  1. Baptised Catholic children who have attended a CSBB primary school for at least the previous 3 years and have completed the appropriate sacramental programs.
  2. Siblings of children already enrolled in the school.
  3. Baptised Catholic and other children who have attended a CSBB primary school for less than 3 years.
  4. Baptised Catholic children from non-CSBB schools.
  5. Children from other Christian traditions, other faith traditions, or non-churched backgrounds.

If your child is placed on our waiting list, we will notify you if we are able to make an offer.

What happens if my application is late?

You are welcome to apply after the closing date; however, late applications may be placed on a waiting list, subject to available places and student requirements. The waiting list is prioritised according to the Catholic Schools Broken Bay Enrolment Policy.

Can I book a tour before applying?

es! We encourage families to book a College Tour to experience our facilities and meet staff before submitting an application.

When will I be notified about the outcome of my application?

Families are usually notified in Term 2 of Year 5

Our family is not Catholic. Can we still apply?

Yes. Mater Maria Catholic College is proud to be an inclusive community with staff and students from a wide range of backgrounds, including non-Catholic and non-religious families. What we all share is a commitment to Catholic values.

On acceptance of an offered place, families are expected to support their child’s participation in all faith-based activities, including:

  • Religious Education Curriculum (Years 7–12)
  • College Masses
  • Camps and retreats

When do you hold your College Open Day? Can I register now?

Yes! We hold regular small-group tours where you can visit classrooms and see learning in action.

What are the fees?

The current fees for Mater Maria Catholic College can be viewed here. Fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change.

Do you offer support for students with special needs?

Yes. At Mater Maria Catholic College, our Learner Diversity team works to meet the needs of students with varying learning requirements. We:

  • Identify and assess each student’s unique needs
  • Develop a personalised plan with appropriate curriculum adjustments
  • Provide a supportive environment to help students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically

How many students attend the College?

Mater Maria currently has just over 1,100 students enrolled and we have waitlists for Year 7 for the next two years. We strongly encourage interested families to complete the Catholic Schools Broken Bay Enquiry Form as soon as possible.

How would my child travel to school?

There are several travel options:

  • Kiss and Drop: Located outside the College entrance on Forest Road, with a designated pedestrian pathway into the grounds.
  • Bus: Many students travel by bus to and from the bus turning area within the College grounds.
  • Free Public Transport: Students who live more than 2.0 km (straight line) or 2.9 km (walking) from the College may be eligible for free travel using an Opal Card. Applications are available via the Transport NSW website.
  • Bike: We provide bike racks for students who ride to school.

Do you take overseas students?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept overseas students.

What about TAFE and VET options for senior students?

Mater Maria offers a range of subjects to suit diverse student capabilities and interests, including VET and TAFE options.

Students are also supported through our Pathways and Careers Program, which helps guide choices beyond school and provides advice on vocational and tertiary pathways.
