On Wednesday 14 August, our College had the distinct honour of hosting 12 highly respected visitors as part of the CSNSW and CDD School Visit Program. Our guests included CSNSW Board Members, Diocesan Directors and colleagues from CSBB. Mater Maria was one of nine CSBB schools selected to host this significant event, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire school community.
During the visit, we were asked to present the story of our professional learning journey. This included sharing insights into our Literacy in Subject Area (LiSA) professional learning, the work of our professional learning teams, the strategic use of collaborative planning time and our achievements in NAPLAN and HSC results. The presentation highlighted the collective efforts of our staff in fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
A special thanks to the teachers who invited our visitors into their classrooms for a learning walk. The quality of their lessons and the engagement of their students were a true reflection of the strong learning culture that we nurture here at Mater Maria Catholic College.
Our visitors were impressed with the professionalism of our staff, the leadership qualities of our students and the learning observed in classrooms. It was a privilege to showcase our Mater Maria community and we look forward to continuing our journey of excellence in education.
