Our Year 11 Drama students were warmly received on Wednesday 20 July and Friday 22 July as they went on tour to perform their annual Anti-Bullying Play, The Power of Some, to local primary schools to expose the issue of bullying to students in Years 4, 5 and 6.
Mater Maria’s successful annual Anti-Bullying Play helps to spread awareness about bullying and educating children on the several types of bullying such as verbal, physical, social, and cyber. The play presented the roles of a victim tormented by bullies and bystanders. The course of the play presented a solution in which the bystanders stood up for the victim and assisted in stopping the bullying. An important takeaway from the play is the repeated phrase “it’s not dobbing, it’s asking for help.”
We would like to congratulate our Year 11 Drama students on their impactful performances which exemplify relevant issues that students deal with at school.
